OUR HISTORY

The church began meeting in various members’ homes and experienced growth that led the congregation to the town fire hall and eventually to the Fenner Mill building in Wind Gap. In 2013, the church purchased the historic Trinity Lutheran Church, where the congregation currently meets.

Looking toward the future, the church plans to build a new facility in Plainfield Township on ten acres located along Mack Road.

In 1988, the church called the Rev. Larry Gasteiger to serve as its pastor, a position he held for more than twenty years until his retirement in 2010.

In 2011, the Rev. Matthew Whistler was called to serve as pastor of the church and remained in that position until May 31, 2026.

In September 2026, Pastor Stephen Oakes began serving as our Interim Pastor, continuing the church’s ministry and providing leadership during this next chapter in its history.

CORE BELIEFS

The Bible

We believe that the Bible is God’s inspired and inerrant Word, and is the sole basis of our beliefs. At Faith Alive, we are committed to teaching and living our lives according to the truths in the Bible.

God

We believe in a Holy God, who has revealed Himself to humanity in three persons-Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. In the beginning, God created the world and continues to sustain it by His divine power and providence.

Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ is the Son of God and was born on the earth as a human being. He lived a perfect, sinless life, and died on the cross for the sins of the world. He rose from the dead, ascended to heaven, and one day will come back to the earth to reign forever.

Humanity

The Gospel

The Gospel is the good news that Jesus Christ has paid the penalty for our sins. Through His death, burial, and resurrection, anyone who repents of their sins and places their faith in Jesus Christ can be forgiven.
