Faith Alive Reopening Phase 2

June 1, 2020

Dear Alive Family,

The purpose of this letter is to update you on how we will be conducting worship services going forward.  As you know, we began meeting on May 10 with two worship services lasting approximately an hour long.  With the two counties that our church draws its members from being in the yellow phase by June 7, we have decided to move forward with the following plan for Sunday Worship.

  1. We will begin holding service at our normal worship time, 10 am, and will have only one service going forward.

  1. The service will continue to last approximately an hour, and we will continue to practice the routines we started during May. In other words, the offering pan will be in the back with envelopes for you to fill, there are no pens, etc., in the pews, and we will not be having the preservice donuts or prayer times.  You are welcome, however, to come whenever you would like and fellowship with others that are here.  We will have communion one Sunday in June, but will do it in a safe, appropriate manner.

  1. We will begin having a Sunday School class for kids ages 5-12 during the month of June, as kids that age can be safe downstairs with appropriate social distancing. The nursery will be available for any mother that wishes to utilize it, but will not be staffed.

  1. We will be cordoning off pews and encouraging safe social distance practices. Please feel free to wear a mask as recommended by the government, however, we will not require you to do so in the church. We do realize, however, that as more and more people come back, this will be harder to maintain. We will take appropriate steps to ensure the health and well being of all members of the church.

  1. We will meet only for Sunday Services during the month of June, and will ease into a normal routine as the threat of the virus loosens.
  2. Please do not come if you are sick, or if you know have had contact with someone who has had the virus within the last 14 days. Please follow the self-quarantine/isolation guidelines laid out by the government and come only when it is safe for you to do so.

  1. Also, please do not come if you do not feel comfortable coming to church just yet. Educate yourself on the higher risk categories and consult the advice/recommendations of family, etc.  We will be praying that God keeps us safe during this time, but there is no way to guarantee total safety.  If you need pastoral help and do not want to come to church, please do not hesitate to reach out and contact me.  Likewise, if you are in need of financial help or otherwise, please contact myself or one of the deacons.  We will do what we can to help you.

  1. If you do not feel comfortable coming at this time, and would like to continue supporting the church, please do so by checking out our website, faccpa.org. There you will find a secure online giving portal.  You can also send your offerings in the mail (10 E. Mechanic St.  Wind Gap, PA 18091).  Thank you to everyone who has supported the church during the times we were not meeting.

We are praying for you and our nation/world at this time.  While this is another small step, we believe it is the right step to take as we seek to get back to fulfilling our mission of preaching the Gospel to every person, beginning right here in our community. If you have any questions, please contact me.
